James Kim is a Washington DC-based commercial photographer who's experienced in a variety of disciplines within the photography industry. During his 15 years of photographing professionally, he has worked in high-end studios, photographed high-profile figures, produced images for ad campaigns, and has been published in numerous magazines and news outlets.
Although he originally began taking photos as a hobby, he quickly rose to the level of a career professional to where he was able to work with government agencies such as the US Dept. of Transportation, as well as the Dept. of Health and Homeland Security. He has also photographed for Fortune 500 companies such as General Dynamics, Southwest Airlines, and Ernst & Young, just to name a few.
In addition to his own wedding photography brand, James has worked with Freed Photography, a well-established and award-winning studio based in Bethesda, Md., for nearly a decade. There he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience covering wedding and other events, and has gained high remarks for professionalism and personal attention.
James' work has been printed in publications such as Marie Claire Magazine, The Washington Business Journal, The Charlotte Observer, and various trade magazines. He currently works with Bethesda, Arlington, and Northern Virginia magazines.
James' food pics have appeared on the menus and websites such as Ford's Fish Shack, Inn at Little Washington, and Ridgewells Catering. His photos have also been printed in the food section of Northern Virginia Magazine for a number of years.
In addition to food photography, James has helped entrepreneurs and retailers showcase new products and highlight their creations with clear and vivid images.
